This online video program includes an adult informational video and 16 lessons for memorizing multiplication tables from the twos through the nines. This program uses the skill of visualization which accesses the seeing part of the brain, which is associated with long-term memory, to remember the math facts. Each lesson takes only about 2 to 3 minutes. The program can be individualized. If your student knows some multiplication tables, then work on those your student doesn’t know. Some students may need to work on one lesson for up to 2 weeks until the skill is firm.
Students that have been unable to learn math facts with other techniques often find this strategy works very well for them. The program also includes saying the times tables in a rhythmic manner at the end of some of the lessons, which accesses a different part of the brain than visualization. Using these two techniques together can be very powerful and highly effective for many students that have struggled to memorize their multiplication tables in other ways.
Students that have completed the Read-A-Rific Reading Comprehension program find it easier to use this program, as they have a solid foundation of visualizing. These worksheets are for students that need extra help with seeing the numbers in their imagination. If your student is having difficulty remembering the multiplication tables, even after using the videos in this program, then it will be important for your student to practice with these additional worksheets so they can learn to visualize the numbers more clearly.
